The Space
Finding Your Balance is based in a unique Balinese-styled house in Mount Coolum, just minutes from the beach. The space is intended to feel calm, private, and restorative.

Cindy: Social worker, Counsellor and Supervisor
Cindy is an Accredited Social Worker and Accredited Social Work Supervisor with over 30 years of experience in counselling, supervision, and mental health support. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours), a Master of Social Work (Clinical), a PhD in Social Work, and post-doctoral training in Clinical Psychology. Trained in the United States and practising in Australia, Cindy provides evidence-based therapy for adults and young people.
She specialises in anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, stress, life transitions, cancer support, and chronic health conditions. Her trauma-informed, holistic approach focuses on the connection between mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
Cindy uses proven therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-informed care to help clients build resilience, manage distress, and regain balance. Her approach is warm, practical, and collaborative, creating a safe and supportive environment.
Alongside her clinical work, Cindy is a published author and international speaker in mental health and coping. She also provides professional supervision for social workers, counsellors, and mental health practitioners, supporting ethical practice and ongoing professional development.

Counselling & Supervision
Yes, counselling is confidential. What you share will not be disclosed without your consent, except in rare situations where there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or where required by law.
Sessions are typically 50–60 minutes. You can talk about whatever feels important to you. Your counsellor may ask questions, offer reflections, or introduce strategies to help you better understand and manage your situation.
This varies depending on your needs and goals. Some people attend for a few sessions to work through a specific issue, while others prefer longer-term support. We will regularly review your progress together.
Yes, counselling is available both in-person and online (via secure video platforms). Online sessions provide flexibility and access from the comfort of your own space.

We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Late cancellations or missed appointments may incur a fee.
No, you do not need a Mental Health Plan to access counseling services. You can book directly at any time.
No, we do not accept insurance. This allows us to keep our fees low and accessible, often within the typical “gap” amount clients would pay even when using insurance.
It’s completely normal to feel unsure or nervous. Your counselor will work at your pace and create a supportive, non-judgemental environment to help you feel comfortable.
